Jimmy Marr - Photographer [aka Jim Jimmy James]

Welcome to my website, I’m Jim; actually I’m Jim, Jimmy or James.

I am also known as Jim-Jimmy-James and some family members call me Seamus or Hamish.

Having studied photography at Morley College in London, I have completed their advanced level photography course and obtained distinctions for my submissions in City & Guilds photography.

My keen interest in all genres of photography leads me to accept tasks in a range of environments. My attention to detail and creativity allow me to capture the images of my visualisation in front of me. Whilst I enjoy all aspects of photography I avoid traditional wedding photography which is far too stressful & life is way too short.

People fascinate me and I like to capture the honest reality of life in my street photography, photojournalism and portraiture.

I primarily use Canon EOS Products; these include a Full Frame Canon EOS 6D body with the L series lens system, giving me a professional platform to operate with. Recently this has led to my fashion/street portraiture being published as a Canon Showcase online.

As I feel it is important that I meet the client’s expectations against their project brief, I work closely with all concerned to ensure a high quality product at the finish.

My on-going projects include an autobiographical photographic record of 20 frontmen from the 60’s to modern day bands, as a personal creative challenge, I intend to embark on a 50-50-50 project, this will see me taking 50 images, over 50 days using a 50mm lens capturing a wide range of subjects using all the diverse techniques that I developed during my education.
